Fashion

Sundress, Sundress, Zodiac Dress

There's something satisfying about slipping on a sundress, sandals, a few treasured jewellery items and leaving the house. Perhaps it's the effortless nature of the procedure? Or the flirtatious nature of the garment itself? Either way, a few sundresses are stalwart to any summer wardrobe and are perfect for holidays are they are a whole ensemble in one weightless item. Realisation Par's have racked up a cult following, and their collection of playful pieces also comprises of the Zodiac slip dress, which is perfect for summer nights.

Beauty

Lavender Absolute

Lighter, more absorbent and just as effective oils are the perfect alternative to heavy creams and even lotions in the summer, and Rodin's are particularly lightweight. The New York-based brand founded by legendary stylist Linda Rodin launched a travel kit that exudes all of the saviour faire and elegance of the Linda herself, and contains lavender absolute which not only smells divine, but has antiseptic, antibacterial, and healing properties, so it's perfect for those who are pigmentation and/or acne prone. Rodin Olio Lusso's Lavender Absolute Travel Kit can be purchased online and in-store at Liberty London.

Lifestyle

'Gondolas, Lights, Music'

Are words that Friedrich Nietzsche used to encapsulate Venice, Italy so well, though the city that was built on water is more than that. Walking through it feels like you've stepped out of a time machine into 19th century Italy (that is if you overlook the contemporary shops and Nike trainers on the feet of the Gondoliers), and the landscape is just one of Venice's beauties. The food, galleries and museums, and the general atmosphere are captivating.

Culture

Chapels, Cathedrals and Churches

There's something about old, traditional architecture that is awe-inspiring, be it Renaissance, Gothic or Byzantine it never fails to captivate in the honest way that only true beauty does. Perhaps it's the pronounced attention to detail, the painstaking labour that went into producing them, the religious symbolism that lies within them or the ability to look at the physicality of a time that once that makes us visit cities to simply stop, stare and yes take a picture for the gram. This month I was doing just that in Venice, Italy. The city itself stands as a looking glass into the past, with every building, bridge and alleyway presenting a unique kind of beauty, but of course, picturesqueness is epitomised with Saint Mark's Basilica and all of the little churches and cathedrals within the city.

Food

Spaghetti Pomodoro

As we're on the topic of Italy, the food is as imperative to the Italian experience as the architecture, and this month (coming to think about it every month, week, and pretty much day) the Italian experience has been seeping into my home through one simple dish. Spaghetti Pomodoro. Apparently, Audrey Hepburn ate this once a week, having two servings, and it's not hard to see why, this dish is easy to cook, involves carbs and specifically pasta and exudes comfort food. You can enjoy it if you're vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, or a meat-eater. You can enjoy it in the sweltering heat, after a long day at work on the sofa whilst binge watching Queer Eye, or at a sophisticated dinner party with friends. And if you don't know how to cook it, a recipe will be up within the next two weeks.
